Ms Office Works Reddit

Ms Office Works Reddit Rating: 5,9/10 9338 reviews

As you probably know (because you've found yourself here), you must have a valid product key to reinstall Microsoft Office 2010 or Office 2007.

If you haven't already looked, you can avoid the process below by checking for the product key on the disc sleeve, manual, or email receipt that came with your purchase of Office 2010 or 2007.

May 22, 2017 - Reddit allows you to observe what people really think about your products so you create. It can take a bit of work to find the right communities. Microsoft Office 2016 full version is the full, cross-device, cross-platform solution for the modern workplace, with smart tools for teams and businesses. Get the installed applications you know. I also bought 2 premium versions of Microsoft Office for Mac for $6.94. To software licensing just because it works, doesn't mean it's legal.

Beyond that, assuming Microsoft Office is still or was recently installed, the valid product key you need to reinstall Office is stored in the Windows Registry. Unfortunately, digging it up from there won't be much help because it's encrypted.

Fortunately, several free software programs called key finder tools are more than capable of finding, and decrypting, that super important Office 2007 or 2010 product key.

Follow the steps below to use the free LicenseCrawler program to find and then show you your valid Microsoft Office 2007 or Office 2010 product key:

How to Find Your Microsoft Office 2010 or 2007 Key Code

The following procedure works equally well to find the product key for any Microsoft Office 2010 or 2007 suite, like Office Professional 2010, Office Professional Plus 2010, Office Ultimate 2007, etc. These steps will also work even if you just have one member of the suite installed. For example, 2010 or 2007 versions of Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  1. Download LicenseCrawler. This is a free, and portable (no installation required) program, as well as one that I've tested for valid product key extraction for both Office 2010 and Office 2007.

You're welcome to try a different free key finder program but we like LicenseCrawler for Office 2010/2007 product keys the best, plus we love that it's portable and leaves nothing behind on your computer. It's not like you're going to use this program twice.. hopefully not, anyway.

  2. After downloading, extract to a folder the contents of the ZIP file, and run LicenseCrawler.exe.

  3. Read through the screen prompt you see now, and press the button that it tells you to press.

There might also be an advertisement or some other initial setup screen (like a language selection or license agreement) that you have to wait for, close, or click through to continue. Just follow any on-screen instructions to open LicenseCrawler.

  4. You might see another window open that's unrelated to LicenseCrawler, but it should close down on its own and not interfere with the product key scanning procedure.

  5. Wait for LicenseCrawler to scan your entire registry, looking for registry keys that contain product key information. Since you probably have many more programs than Microsoft Office 2010 or 2007 installed, you'll probably see lots of entries.

  6. Once LicenseCrawler is done scanning the registry, scroll down through the list and look for the entry that starts like one of these:

Here's what you need to know about these entries:

    • 14.0 refers to Office 2010
    • 12.0 refers to Office 2007

You'll only see one unless you happen to have both versions of Microsoft Office installed, but that's not common.

  7. Under that entry, note the two rows, one labeled Product ID, another labeled Serial Number.

The Office 2010 or 2007 product key is the alphanumeric series listed after Serial Number. The Office product key will be formatted like xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx. It'll be 25 characters long — five sets of five letters and numbers.

The term serial number probably isn't the best way to describe what this number is, but you'll often see the terms serial number and product key used interchangeably.

  8. Write this product key code down exactly as LicenseCrawler shows it — you can either do this manually or copy it right out of the program. If you're off by even one character, it won't work.

Another way to save the product key is to go to File > Save to make a text file that contains all of the results. You'll have to sift through them again to find the MS Office product key, but at least you'll know it's forever saved.

  9. You can now reinstall Microsoft Office 2010 or 2007, using the product key that LicenseCrawler showed you.

Unless your edition of Microsoft Office allows for simultaneous installations on more than one computer, please know that most of the time this is not allowed. Just one computer at a time.

Tips & More Information

If the above 'trick' didn't work, and you're sure you don't have your email receipt or other documentation available from when you bought Office 2007 or 2010, you're left with having to purchase a new copy of Microsoft Office.

While you may have come across various free Office product key lists or may have seen suggestions to use keygen programs to create a product key that will work, neither option is legal.

What About Office 2019, 2016, or 2013?

Unfortunately, the above process does not work with Microsoft Office 2019 down through 2013. Microsoft made changes to the product key process beginning in version 2013 that made it possible to restrict the storing of the key on the local computer to nothing but the last five characters, making product key finder programs unhelpful.

Paul Allen Is Investing $125 Million Into Institute for Artificial Intelligence

Paul Allen, the Microsoft co-founder and founder and Chairman of Vulcan Inc.,recently announced that he will be investing an additional $125 million for multiple projects at the Allen Institute for Technology (AI2). The funding will be distributed among multiple AI2 projects, specifically ones that are managed by the “Project Alexandria” team.

One of the problems that Allen’s team is aiming to solve is that artificial intelligence cannot solve unstructured problems and manage unanticipated situations. 'This is an extremely complicated challenge,' said Allen in a statement. 'If we want AI to approach human abilities and have the broadest possible impact in research, medicine and business, we need to fundamentally advance AI's common sense abilities.'

Bill Gates Does Another Reddit AMA

Last week, Microsoft co-founder and technology advisor Bill Gates participated in his6th Reddit “Ask Me Anything” session where he answered a number of questions. Here are some of the notable topics he addressed in the AMA:”

Favorite Books Of 2018

Reddit user Krohnos asked Gates what the best book he read in 2018 has been. Gates said that he enjoyed “Enlightenment Now” by Pinker and “Factfulness” by Rosling.

What Does He Credit In Becoming Rich

When Reddit user jpfg259 asked Gates whether he thinks he would manage to become as rich as he was now if he was born into a low-income family, he responded with the following:

“I benefited from having a great education - public schools through 6th grade and then a great private School (Lakeside). So there is a good chance I would never have gotten turned on to software and math the way I did and therefore not as successful.” Seattle-based Lakeside School is considered one of the most prestigious private schools in the country.

When Did He Consider Himself A Success

Reddit user sharminuchiha asked Gates when he considered himself a success. “There are many domains to be successful in. I was a success in getting good grades and test scores in high school. I was a success at writing good code by my early 20s. The dream of the PC being an enabling tool came true by the 1990s. Now I am working on being a good father and the ambitious goals of the Foundation including getting rid of polio and malaria. I think it is always good to have goals where your success is in doubt and I have that in many areas including the work I do on climate change,” replied Gates.

Cryptocurrencies

Forbes contributor Kyle Torpeyhighlighted Gates’ response to Reddit user Askur1337 about his stance on cryptocurrency. “The main feature of cryptocurrencies is their anonymity. I don't think this is a good thing. The (government’s) ability to find money laundering and tax evasion and terrorist funding is a good thing. Right now cryptocurrencies are used for buying fentanyl and other drugs so it is a rare technology that has caused deaths in a fairly direct way. I think the speculative wave around ICOs and cryptocurrencies is super risky for those who go long,” Gates explained.

Transportation

Reddit user 123lift said that transportation is important, but is an undervalued issue in bettering human conditions. So 123lift’s question was about how the Gates Foundation is involved in transportation. “I think the private market rewards innovation in this space quite well. I think electric cars and autonomous vehicles will be great things. The Foundation is experimenting with drone delivery of medical supplies with a grantee in Rwanda and Tanzania. I am not sure the hyperloop concept makes sense - making it safe is hard,” Gates pointed out.

Microsoft Optimizes Skype For Older Android Versions

Ms Office Works 2006

If you have an older Android device, then you may be happy to hear that Microsoft has optimized Skype for devices running on Android 4.0.3 to 5.1. This news comes on the heels of Skype for Android hitting over one billion downloads from the Google Play Store.

“This update—starting to roll out in the next few days—is lighter on both disk and memory consumption, allowing for greater speed and better audio and video quality on lower end Android devices, as well as increased performance in challenging network conditions. This update builds on our mission to connect people from wherever, whenever, and from whatever device possible,” said Skype in ablog post.

How Microsoft Soundscape App Helps Visually Impaired iPhone Users

Microsoft has released a new iPhone app called Soundscape, which helps visually impaired people navigate their iPhone by providing audio cues through headphones. As the user moves around their hands on the device, the cue changes so the user can find what they are looking for.

As the user is walking around, it will tell them which store they are passing by and the street names as well. And there is a beacon noise that provides clues for how certain places are. In the demo above, you will notice a woman that is cued by the app that there is a Nike store 248 yards ahead.

There are three buttons at the bottom of the screen. The “My Location” feature informs the user where they are standing and the direction they are facing. The “Ahead of Me” feature tells users about what is in front of them. And the “Around Me” feature will point out the points of interests near the user. Another feature worth mentioning is that the app can work in the background while other audio apps are open.

The Soundscape app requires an iPhone and a set of headphones. It is recommended that the user has a pair of wireless headphones such as the Apple AirPods.

Microsoft And Packerland Broadband Partner To Bring Broadband To Rural Michigan And Wisconsin

Microsoft and Packerland Broadband have partnered on a project that will bring broadband Internet to 82,000 people in rural areas of Michigan and Wisconsin over the next 4 years. What makes bringing high-speed Internet to rural locations to rural areas is that building the infrastructure for it is expensive and has a bit of red tape.

“People with access to broadband have better educational, business, agricultural and healthcare opportunities. Unfortunately, for the more than 19.4 million people living in rural communities across America without broadband access, these opportunities remain out of reach. The Packerland-Microsoft partnership will bring essential broadband services to the region, where on average more than 43 percent of people living in rural Wisconsin and 34 percent of people living in rural Michigan lack adequate access to broadband, and the economic and educational opportunities it enables,” said Microsoft in ablog post. “The Packerland partnership is part of Microsoft’s TechSpark Wisconsin program to introduce digital initiatives, including the Rural Airband Initiative, to foster greater economic opportunity and job creation in northeast Wisconsin.”

Microsoft Announces Expansion Of Supported Silicon For Windows 10 IoT Core

Microsoft announced an expansion of its supported silicon offering for Windows 10 IoT Core at the Embedded World Conference last week. The next releases of Windows 10 IoT Core and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise will offer 10 years of support via the Windows Long-Term Servicing Channel.

Windows 10 IoT Core is a version of Windows 10 that was built for creating optimizing Internet of Things devices and is optimized to power intelligent edge devices. This version was released in 2015 and is used by companies like Johnson Controls, Askey and Misty Robotics.

“To support growing customer and partner demand, Microsoft, in close collaboration with NXP, has initiated a private preview of Windows 10 IoT Core on NXP i.MX 6 and i.MX 7 processors. The i.MX product portfolio is one of the most popular IoT processor families in the industry and this enables Windows IoT developers to create a broader variety of high performance, power-optimized, and industrial grade devices,” said Microsoft Windows 10 IoT Director David Lemson in ablog post. “Windows 10 IoT Core uses a unique capability of the NXP i.MX 6 and i.MX 7 to enable trusted I/O which can ensure that malicious applications or rogue actors are unable to tamper with the physical control of a device even if they infiltrate the operating system software.”

Microsoft Store Is Now Selling More Androids Than Windows-Based Phones

PhoneArena recently discovered on Microsoft’s website that its online store is now selling more Androids than Windows-based phones. The Android smartphones that are available for purchase through Microsoft in the U.S. include the Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8+, Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and the Razer Phone. And there are only two Windows smartphones available, which are the HP Elite x3 and Alcatel Idol 4S.

Microsoft Donates A PC To Teacher In Ghana After Seeing This Viral Photo

Recently, a photo of a teacher in Ghana named Owura Kwadwo went viral. The reason why the photo went viral is because Kwadwo made a drawing of Microsoft Word on a blackboard with chalk to teach how the software works. Rebecca Enonchong saw the photo and did some digging around to figure out who the teacher was. After learning who it was, Enonchong reached out to Microsoft to see if they could provide Kwadwo with some educational resources. The Microsoft Africa team responded by saying that they will equip Owura Kwadwo with a device from one of their partners and access to the Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) program for free.

This picture has been circulating on web. Does anyone know what country? This teacher is my hero. I want to find him. #TeachingIsAVocationpic.twitter.com/k7d0ysKrDj
